About
Hi, I’m Luciana.
I’m a creative leader with more than 25 years of experience across four continents.
I started my career in São Paulo, working at agencies such as Leo Burnett, Ogilvy, and Grey Worldwide—where I was fortunate to win my first Cannes Lion and One Show Pencil within my first five years as an art director.
After a decade in Brazil, I moved to Lisbon to join Leo Burnett. Over the next nine years, I grew from Senior Art Director to Executive Creative Director, shaping a leadership style rooted in collaboration over hierarchy. Together with an exceptional team, we built one of the most awarded agencies in Portugal, and I was honored three times as “Best Creative Director” by the Creative Club of Portugal.
During that time, I led the integrated communications for Banco Atlântico, one of Angola’s most respected financial institutions—developing a new brand positioning and launching a full pipeline of financial products. More than that, the experience expanded my global perspective, working across cultures and markets at scale.
In 2016, I moved to the U.S. to join Lapiz in Chicago as SVP, Executive Creative Director. The following year, I was named one of Adweek’s Top 18 Executive Creative Directors in the U.S., and the agency earned its first Cannes Lion.
In 2019, I moved to Tokyo as Executive Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi, leading multidisciplinary teams for global brands including Expedia, Shu Uemura (L’Oréal), and Lexus.
In 2021, I returned to the U.S. to lead the creative department at AKQA Portland, working with clients such as Nike, Dell, Johnson & Johnson Innovation, and VinFast.
After leading the Portland studio for three years, I stepped into the role of North America Executive Creative Director, partnering with teams across AKQA studios to shape work and culture at a regional level. Today, I’m based in Vancouver, Canada.
Throughout my journey, my focus has remained the same: pushing creative boundaries, building strong creative cultures, and blending innovation with storytelling.
My work has earned international recognition, including a Cannes Grand Prix. Projects like a tequila-raining cloud for the Mexico Tourism Board and a tennis match featuring Serena Williams from two different eras for Nike reflect my commitment to bold ideas and breakthrough creativity.
